Valentine
Now:
Fresh off my vacation, I thought it would be a good time to post this image. Especially since she is now my wife! I may have had a naive approach to image manipulation, but I don’t regret for a moment choosing to spend my life with Valerie.
Then:
This was an image I did just for fun, trying out some funky photo coloring techniques. My girlfriend, the beautiful Valerie (I love you!), gave me this photo for Valentine’s Day, though I’m not sure she anticipated me turning her skin such an “interesting” set of colors.
Manipulated in Corel Photo-Paint, the photo was originally black and white. I masked each individual area to receive coloring effects, most of which were applied with a gradient or fractal fill, some transparency, and the multiply or color modes. Careful freehand masking was the key here.
